    Sorry for such a basic question, but I am a beginner – I have made a great Dry Stout using Fuggle hops and now I would like to add vanilla to my next dry stout brew – any suggestion about how and when as well as the type of vanilla to use in NZ? Thanks

    I have seen all grain recipes using vanilla beans halved and put in with the beer. Usually 2-3 beans for 20L.

    I think you should soak in vodka first to sanitise,scrap the gunky bit out first.

    Hopefully someone can chime in that has used before
